Happy Three Day Weekend! For this week, Katrina will be filling in for a special edition of the newsletter. The past week has been a busy one for the Rich BFF Team. Viv is taking a much needed “break” from work to Italy to plan her upcoming nuptials. Meigs just finished celebrating her first Valentine’s Day as a wife. Grace is on a cute cabin trip with her friends. And moi? I’m writing to you from the airport. I finished another quick trip to California celebrate Lunar New Year with my family.
HYCU, pronounced haiku: how the news impacts you and your wallet, aka How You Can Use
The Prosperitea: think discount codes, non-boring finance articles, sales, and personal links from the week. The fun stuff 😉
We love your comments, but please remember to keep it positive! And don’t take investing advice from anyone who isn’t your registered financial advisor!
Now that you’re up to speed, let’s get you enRICHed.
Love to Love 💌
As always on a long weekend, the newsletter is going to be a breezier read. Instead, let’s do a quick Q1 check-in. I find that this time of year tends to be oddly emotional as we adapt to a new year and navigate the seasonal changes. Specifically around Valentine’s Day, it’s easy to feel a type of way if you aren’t where you want to be. And even if you are where you want to be, it’s okay to not feel okay too.
Regardless of my relationship status, I find myself always longing for love—whether it’s love from myself, someone else, or a shiny new purse. However, I recently read (and would highly recommend) Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love, an amusing coming of age memoir about romance, making mistakes, and girlhood.
Here’s a quote I want to share with you all:
“When you’re looking for love and it seems like you might not ever find it, remember you probably have access to an abundance of it already, just not the romantic kind. This kind of love might not kiss you in the rain or propose marriage. But it will listen to you, inspire and restore you. It will hold you when you cry, celebrate when you’re happy, and sing All Saints with you when you’re drunk. You have so much to gain and learn from this kind of love. You can carry it with you forever. Keep it as close to you as you can.”
- Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love)
What do you think? Can you think of a few examples of this type of love? Share in the comments and let them know how you feel 💫
