My daughter is only 7, but we have a friend that already is gifting face cleansers, etc. to their daughter. 7, let alone 10 I believe is way too young to be shopping at sephora. Why does a girl this age even need any face product, makeup, etc? Let them be kids.

When I go into sephora my daughter sees the colourful lip glosses and eye shadows and asks for them. But each time I let her know she is too young, and can have it when shes older. Even if it is her own money, I will still put a halt to her buying these things.

I don’t know why prepubescent girls are buying skincare. Don’t they know that their best and healthiest skin is what they already have now? Shame on these companies for targeting the young ones. It’s just like the tobacco and vaping industry, advertising fruit flavors and making their vapes look like USB drives or highlighters.

Also, thanks for sharing that article “Not Everything Needs To Be Documented”. I was that geeky friend that took artistic photos of every food and drink at every event. Cringe. Not sure when I stopped, but at some point I realized I wasn’t really being present in the moment and stopped.

My daughter is 13 but I established her a simple inexpensive skin care routine that she sticks with. She also doesn’t have much access to social media- only what her friends show her at school. She has an allowance but the only makeup she will buy is lip gloss which is fine- she spends most of her money on Legos :) But maybe it’s because I have a simple routine and minimal makeup habits. If I’m not buying all that stuff, maybe she doesn’t feel the need to have it either?

Probate in Hawaii is confusing & not too clear. A lot of attorneys do not know the laws on this transfer of ownership of property or give different answers.
