Thank you so much for the shoutout! I had a lot of fun learning about RtR and hope to do more deep dives for other companies in the future. So glad to have found your newsletter as the news about Wendy's is 🤯.

Can't wait to see the next deep dive, it was something I think our audience will really appreciate as it makes a seemingly scary financial topic more approachable

🤦‍♀️percent (out of 100)

Otherwise it was all an interesting read about the mental health days. I don’t think I’ve ever taken one in my life. I’m 35 and have been working at least part time for the last 18 years (excluding 1.5 for maternity leave).

haha yes Rebecca! I was quoting directly from a UK report, so their use of per cent was definitely funny to read!

I have had to take mental health days throughout my life but just faked having some other illness that would seem more "acceptable."

I assume you aren't alone Susan! This may be the first generation where a mental health day has been discussed in the work place, but it is definitely not the first generation dealing with mental health struggles.

I can relate to your story about showing up sick to work. If I was able I went. If my boss said go home, that's another story but I have also worked since I was 16 and in college I often had two jobs. This is absolutely not the current norm. I used to be a high school teacher and it was not uncommon to have students that never worked until they graduated from college. So their first job was at 21?

This all sounds really boomer-ish I know but going to work can really help your mental health ya know

Funny you say that Meg, because at my new job, I am back in the office 3 days a week vs. WFH everyday and it's done wonders for me. Being around coworkers and having conversations and natural breaks throughout the day is so helpful in creating context around the work I am doing. I love my WFH days but am grateful for the office space for sure.

I'm also in-office 3 days a week and I think it's a good balance. People don't realize some structure and a schedule can do a lot for mental health. *i'm so happy you responded! I love your newsletter!*

#1 DID I MISS THE WEDDING! Shame on me, congratulations!! Wishing you many years of love and happiness and great fortunes.

#2 I have also been enjoying the sunshine buy spending all weekend outside pouring concrete. A breath of fresh air before the pollen!

#3 I did have "mental health" access in college (UTK '07-'14) but... It was awful. It was more, here's what we think is wrong with you and not, let's help you aquire some coping skills for these challenges. Not everyone is given a full toolbox when they start life, some tools are acquired over time and I'm hoping that has gotten better these days

Have a great week ahead!

haha no Sabrina! you didn't miss Vivian's wedding - that's this summer. I was referring to my own.

thanks for your reflection of your own college experience, it's interesting to compare the changes that have happened in only a matter of 10 years. the toolbox analogy is smart, as it allows you to access different resources at different times if you have that at your disposal.
